Brighton and Hove Psychotherapy

EMDR Supervision: for Therapists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, and Psychologists.

I have a breadth and depth of experience of therapeutic work that lends itself to supervising people working in a variety of settings.  For many years I have run a busy private practice in Brighton and Hove, working with adult clients, individual supervisees and supervision groups.  In the past I worked as a CBT and EMDR therapist, and supervisor, within an NHS mental health team and IAPT service.  I currently provide supervision for Survivors' Network in Brighton, an IAPT service, and several therapy clinics.

My background includes working as a qualified Social Worker with children and families, in the public and voluntary sectors.  I am interested in the challenges presented by the working environment - whether it be private practice, voluntary agencies, or the NHS.   I have expertise in working with trauma using different modalities (including Trauma-Focused CBT), and often provide supervision to others gaining experience in trauma work.

My supervision work includes supporting people through the EMDR accreditation process.

My background includes the following:

EMDR

I am an accredited EMDR Consultant (Supervisor).   I regularly attend EMDR national and international conferences and keep up-to-date with developments in the EMDR world.   I currently supervise both trainees and experienced EMDR therapists.  As a Consultant I can supervise those therapists working towards EMDR Accreditation.   I also run EMDR Supervision Groups.  If you are interested in a place in a group please contact me for availability.

I am a facilitator on EMDR training courses and I help to organise CPD events as a Committee member of the EMDR Sussex Regional Group.

CBT

I was a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist (2011-2024) and also trained in Supervision of CBT.   I have particular expertise in using CBT as part of a wider integrative model.

Integrative Relational Psychotherapy

I trained at the Metanoia Institute in this model and I also did a course in Integrative Supervision at Metanoia.  My work is influenced by Relational Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Existential theories, Humanistic models (such as Gestalt and Transactional Analysis), and Body Psychotherapy.    I am very interested in how we integrate across models - what fits together and what may be incompatible.  I work with both process and content in therapy and supervision.
