Supervision for EMDR Therapists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and others working in a therapeutic way:

I have a breadth and depth of experience of therapeutic work that lends itself to supervision of different kinds.  For many years I have run a busy private practice in Hove, working mostly with individual adults.   I have also worked as a CBT and EMDR therapist and supervisor within an NHS mental health team and IAPT service.  I currently provide supervision for Counsellors and Group Therapists at Survivors' Network and Rise (voluntary organisations in Brighton).  My background includes working as a qualified Social Worker with children and families and I have also worked as a Community Worker within several voluntary organisations.  I am interested in the challenges presented to therapists by their working environment - whether it be private practice, voluntary agencies, or the NHS.   I have expertise in working with trauma using different modalities (including EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT), and often provide supervision to others gaining experience in trauma work.

The supervision I offer is usually an integration of different models, designed to meet the needs of the individual supervisee.   My background includes the following:

I am an accredited EMDR Consultant (Supervisor).   I regularly attend EMDR national and international conferences and keep up-to-date with developments in the EMDR world.   I currently supervise both trainees and experienced EMDR therapists.  As a Consultant I can supervise those therapists working towards EMDR Accreditation.   I also run EMDR Supervision Groups.  Please contact me if you are interested.

I am a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and also trained in Supervision of CBT.   I offer supervision to CBT therapists and to those who are trained in a different model, but would like to integrate CBT into their practice.  I have particular expertise in using CBT as part of a wider integrative model.

Integrative Relational Psychotherapy

I trained at the Metanoia Institute in this model.   I also did a course in Integrative Supervision at Metanoia.  This aspect of my work is influenced by Relational Psychoanalysis, Existential theories, Humanistic models (such as Gestalt and Transactional Analysis), and Body Psychotherapy.    I am very interested in how we integrate across models - what fits together and what may be incompatible.  I work with both process and content in therapy and supervision.

I am approved as a Primary Supervisor for the Metanoia MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.

For self-funded supervisees I charge £80 for 60 minutes. Fees for organisations are individually negotiated.
